Caption: Private, 10th Regiment Royal Grenadiers, circa 1912

The 10th Regiment Royal Grenadiers were the second most senior militia infantry regiment in Toronto. They had seen active service during the Northwest Rebellion in 1885. The bearskin cap of the Grenadier Guards, the senior regiment of the British Footguards, was adopted by the Toronto regiment in 1893. It can be seen in this print, complete with the white plume of a grenadier. The unit is still an active part of the Reserve Force under the title The Royal Regiment of Canada.
