Description: Éva Gauthier's musical career took her from Ottawa, Canada, to the four corners of the world. Nicknamed "The High Priestess of Modern Song," she is best known as a leading interpreter of modern song and for introducing George Gershwin compositions to classical music audiences. Although primarily a mezzo-soprano, her range included contralto, soprano, and the colatura registers. A musical artist ahead of her time, she personally shaped the status of modern vocal music in North America.

His became the musical voice of our soldiers overseas with such popular recordings as "Dear Old Pal of Mine." Rice was on active duty in Ypres, Belgium when he composed the theme of this song. Includes samples of his songs.
